Frequently Asked Questions
Q. "What do you mean by "back supply connection" (model #4110) and "top supply connection" (model #4115)?"
A. Back-supplied models use flush valves that are concealed inside or behind the wall and mount through the wall into the back of the toilet. Toilets that are supplied from the top use an exposed flush valve that mounts on top of the toilet. Top supply toilets are not recommended for installation in maximum or medium security correctional facilities.
Q. "I need to replace my 3.5GPF toilet. Will these toilets work if I reuse my existing flush valve?"
A. Yes you can re-use your existing flushometer valve, however, you will need to replace the internal flush valve parts with a rebuild kit so the gallons per flush of the flushometer will match the gallons per flush the toilet requires.
Q. "Can I uses these toilets with 3/4" supply lines?"
A. No, the manufacturer states these toilets are designed for use with a minimum 1" supply line providing 35psi flushing pressure.
Q. "Are these stainless steel toilets as sturdy as they claim to be?"
A. The manufacturer states these toilets are designed to withstand 5000 lb. loading weight without permanent deflection and damage. They are fabricated using heavy gauge type 304 stainless steel, seamlessly welded and formed into a vandal resistant fixture to be used in high abuse areas.
Q. "Where are wall hung stainless steel toilets normally used?"
A. These stainless steel toilets are nearly indestructible and so are often installed in prisons, parks, bars, hospitals, schools, rest areas, sports arenas, bus stations, or anywhere else toilets see high levels of use and abuse. Many institutions believe wall hung toilets are easier to clean than floor mounted ones.
Q. "What's the point of powder coating a stainless steel toilet?"
A. Adding a "porcelain" white powder coating to your toilet makes it look like a porcelain fixture. This is great if you're tired of replacing broken porcelain fixtures and want the strength of stainless steel, but really prefer the look of porcelain.
