Amazing Spin Down Sediment Filter Systems
by Vu-Flow
A unique filter product, the Vu-Flow spin-down water filter spins out sediment from water while keeping a high flow rate, and is used in many applications such as well water to irrigation, homes, businesses or farms, and industrial well water for cooling towers, wastewater, and drinking water. The filter cartridge is cleanable and reusable - eliminating expensive element replacement - and the filter makes sediment removal simple and economical. Recommended for water only, these filters operate at a maximum of 150psi at 73°F, and are not to exceed 100°F at 40psi.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. "Why should I not install filters with purge valves on the suction side of the pump?"
A. If you are using the purge valve system and not simply capping the purge port, you will need to install this unit on the discharge side of the pump to avoid damage to the pump. With the filter on the suction side, it will starve the pump for water and cause cavitation. Also the filter is just another place to get a suction leak. Any leak in the suction line will cause you to lose prime.
Q. "What if my flow rate is more than 100 gallons per minute?"
A. Simply install two or more units parallel to each other for flow rates greater than 100 GPM.
Q. "Do I have to install the Tee Style Spin-Down water filter in a vertical position?"
A. It is preferable for the filter to be installed in a vertical position with the purge outlet pointing downwards. However, the filter will work in a horizontal position if you are unable to install it vertically.
Q. "What if I require more surface area than the spin down filters offer?"
A. Spin down filters can clog very easy and need to be cleaned or purged quite often if the water supply has quite a bit of sediment since they have a relatively small surface area as compared to a pleated polyester cartridge. Should you need a filter with more surface area than the spin down, we recommend looking at the American Plumber housings and W30PE or W50PE filters.
Q. "Do I need to remove the clear cover from the PVC body in order to glue PVC pipe to the body?"
A. Yes. Any excess glue that comes in contact with the clear cover will damage the clear cover.
Q. "I have flushed my filter screen numerous times. I just flushed it again, but now my filter screen looks like there are small particles stuck in the screen. Can I clean the screen or do I need to purchase another screen?"
A. Yes, you can clean the filter screen. Turn off the water supply and drain some water to relieve any pressure in the line. Unscrew the clear cover and remove the filter screen. First wash off the screen with water spray to dislodge any collected sediment. Then use a soft brush to remove fine particles wedged in the screen. Lubricate the o-rings with food grade silicone grease and reassemble making sure to hand tighten only. The use of tools will void the warranty of the Vu-Flow spin down filters.
Please note: While we strive to ensure every product we label as "Made in the USA" really is 100% made in the USA, it is also important to understand that sometimes manufacturers make changes to their products, or for various reasons may receive components or materials that they would normally purchase domestically from an overseas supplier - and they don't necessarily let distributors (like us!) know that they've changed something about the product or where it is manufactured.
If you receive a product that PlumbingSupply.com® says is "Made in the USA" and the product states it was manufactured elsewhere, please contact us. We will happily replace or refund your purchase to your satisfaction.
