Twist II Clean Inline Water Filter
Consider this: a large portion of residential water supply lines have sand, silt, sediment, or some other form of organic materials present in the water. This is most common in well water or private water supplies, and can cause issues with your fixtures and devices if not taken care of. As these elements tend to clog water lines over time, filtration of the water line is a helpful way to reduce or eliminate the components of clogging. A wonderful, eco-friendly Twist-II-Clean filter is an excellent choice to filter out those common components, and is a virtually waste-free form of filtering if you consider the green method of using purged water to irrigate an outdoor garden.
Why deal with the trouble of using an old-fashioned spin-down style filter system?
Here are just some issues with spin-down filter systems...
hard to remove
frequent filter cleaning
higher risk for leaks
Accessing the filter is a wet and dirty mess. Depressurizing the system introduces air into the line, which can cause several issues further down the run. If you have a pump on the line, air will cause cavitation and shorten its life, possibly also causing it to burn up if too much air is present. It takes a lot of time to clear out that air, meaning a waste of water. Oxygen deteriorates metals as well, and so if you introduce air into the line, your plumbing is more likely to degrade at a faster rate. Standard clear housings when installed in sunlight promote the growth of algae or other organic materials in the system. These materials may cause health hazards if used in potable drinking water. Traditional filters are hard to clean and require frequent replacement. Removing the filter bowl repeatedly to change and clean filters will quickly wear out the top seal, which can lead to leaks.
Twist II Clean systems are the right choice!
mesh filter screen
sun shield jacket
Twist II Clean sediment removal systems are easy to clean and do not require you to remove any part of the system to do so, therefore greatly reducing risks of air entering your water system. With a stainless steel mesh screen filter that is over 200% larger than some other spin-down filters, these will last for years between replacements and will continue to collect the maximum amount of debris between each cleaning cycle. The clear housing shows you when the filter is in need of cleaning. With the optional sun shield neoprene jacket, the clear housing can be covered from the suns exposure, helping to prevent the growth of algae and other organic compounds in your system.
Put an end to the spin-down filter maintenance hassles and purchase one of these great water filter systems. All it takes is a "twist to clean" your filter screen. Why waste your time with having to turn off your water to clean your filter? The Twist II Clean units are compact, install inline on your current water line, and come in four different micron/mesh ratings to choose from. This means you can purchase the initial unit, as well as different filter elements to determine what works best for your application.
Easy to install and maintain, these amazing water filters are designed to remove sand, sediment, and other organic materials from your water line, making them terrific for home well water applications, residential landscape, irrigation, misting systems, pools and spas, just to name a few. Twist II Clean systems must be installed on the outlet side of well water pressure tanks or municipal water systems using constant water pressure below 100 psi. When installing these filters outdoors, the sun shield helps to prevent the growth of algae inside the housing and extends the life of your system.
As this water filter does not need to be disassembled for cleaning, the filter element flushes completely clean in less than 20 seconds. There are no tools needed, no need to turn off the water just to clean the filter, and it may be installed indoors or outdoors, making the Twist II Clean inline water filter the choice of professional installers. The purge port can even be easily plumbed to a garden location so the purge water can be used to irrigate plants and further reducing water waste and helping maintain a green environment.
The Twist II Clean filtration system utilizes a patented reverse flushing action that is controlled with a simple 1/4 twist of the handle. Once the reverse flushing action begins, it backwashes itself from the inside out. Within 20 seconds or so, the debris will be cleaned off of the filter element and flushed out from the bottom purge port.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. "What is a micron rating?"
A. The average size of the openings between pieces of the filter media are represented in microns. For example, a 40-micron filter has larger openings than a 5-micron filter. Consequently, the 40-micron filter element will let larger particles pass through the filter than the 5-micron element.
As a general rule, the smaller micron rating for a filter is better, but as with most everything, there is a trade-off. Flow capability usually drops off as the micron rating gets smaller. To overcome this, low micron-rating filters must have larger elements to keep from sacrificing precious flow.
Q. "How long does the cleaning cycle take?"
A. This unit features a reverse flushing technique that cleans the filter in less than 20 seconds.
Q. "How long will the Twist II Clean filter screen last?"
A. As these filter screens are made from durable stainless steel, they can last several years while collecting the maximum debris between regular cleanings.
Q. "When should the filter screen be replaced?"
A. As with all filters, this depends on the water quality, the amount of debris, etc. that needs to be filtered. It should be replaced if the filter screen becomes damaged or is no longer effectively removing particles.
Q. "Will this work for my small orchard?"
A. This inline water filter is designed for light use per the manufacturer. It's great for most homes, and would help keep debris from a small drip system setup like a backyard garden. Depending on your water quality, amount of debris, how often the water is run, etc. will all affect how well any particular filter will suit a particular application. If you have significant debris and run water 24 hours a day or use a high volume of water, another filter might be a better choice for an orchard. If you're unsure, check with a local agricultural irrigation expert.
Please note: While we strive to ensure every product we label as "Made in the USA" really is 100% made in the USA, it is also important to understand that sometimes manufacturers make changes to their products, or for various reasons may receive components or materials that they would normally purchase domestically from an overseas supplier - and they don't necessarily let distributors (like us!) know that they've changed something about the product or where it is manufactured.
If you receive a product that PlumbingSupply.com® says is "Made in the USA" and the product states it was manufactured elsewhere, please contact us. We will happily replace or refund your purchase to your satisfaction.
