When you have larger diameter iron or steel pipe to cut or trim, a rotary cutter is a great solution. For cutting pipe in place, a rotary cutter makes the task much more manageable, and helps to reduce the down time that removing and replacing the pipe may create. Designed for applications where less than a foot of clearance is available, these cutters provide a more convenient way to make repairs or cut to fit for new installations. Handle-controlled or hand-friendly handles for tightening makes adjusting easy as the blades cut through the pipe.
LCRC Low Profile Rotary™ Cutters
Rotary™ cutters cold cut large diameter steel, most stainless steel, ductile, and cast iron pipe in close quarters. The heavy duty frame and low profile design of the LCRC models need only 4" clearance. Each cutter includes a slip-on handle that is used to turn the cutter around the pipe in one direction. The handle is also used to tighten the cutter every 1/2 revolution. Rotary cutters are the best manual cutters for ductile iron. All sizes use the same cutter wheels.

RC Rotary™ Cutters
Rotary™ cutters are a must have when you work with large diameter pipes. Designed to cold cut large diameter steel, most stainless steel, and cast iron pipe, these cutters are especially ideal for ductile iron. Intended for use in close quarters, only 8" clearance is required for the RC20 and RC24 and just 11.8" clearance for the RC30 and RC36 cutters. Each cutter is supplied with a slip-on handle that is used to turn the cutter around the pipe in one direction. The handle is also used to tighten the cutter every 1/2 revolution. These cutters also feature heavy-duty frames and all sizes use the same cutter wheels.
PLAS In-Line Rotary™ Cutters
PLAS In-Line Rotary™ Cutters are excellent for cutting 4" to 28" diameter PVC or PE (polyethylene) pipe in-trench or above ground. Each PLAS rotary cutter needs just 6" to 8" clearance around the pipe. Outboard rollers keep the cutter aligned on pipe, ensuring a square cut every time. The tool's carbide-tipped blades for PVC are long-lasting and penetrate up to a 2" wall thickness. Each PVC cutter also can produce, in-line with the cut, a 15° bevel on both sides of the cut. In addition, Reed has developed a hardened, tool steel blade to cut PE pipe. The curved blade drives chips out of the way, making PE cuts much easier. Regular PLAS in-line rotary cutters can be retrofitted for PE by purchasing the new blade. PLASOH and PLASOHPE models feature smaller outside diameter and attached handles which permit fast hand-turning. The "OH" models require 11" clearance around the pipe.

Q. "Since there are multiple cutter wheels do I need to use oil to cut through metal pipe?"
A. Yes you should use a lubricating oil. It will prolong the life of the cutter wheels and take less effort to cut through the pipe.
