  • Polyvinyl chlroride (PVC) 1" Coupling - SxS.
  • S is the abbreviaton for slip which means pipe fits inside the coupling fitting.
  • SxS means both ends of the coupling are slip for pipe to be glued inside.
  • A coupling is used to connect two pieces of pipe to continue a straight line in a water system.
  • When properly glued, 1" Schedule 40 couplings are suitable for potable water systems and will easily handle working pressures of 140 psi @ 73°F.
  • Please Note: Water pressures above 80 psi can damage residential water distribution systems.
  • PVC has exellent chemical and corrosion resistance.
  • PVC is approved for underground use, but not indoor distribution.
  • PVC is a viable alternative to copper, galvanized, or polyethylene, and is often the least expensive option.
  • PVC fittings should never be used for compressed air or gas systems.
