Pro Tip: When using a pipe tap, turning the pipe tap slowly forward (clockwise) half a turn and then slowly back (counterclockwise) half a turn will help to rid any metal chips or slivers created by the tap cutting into the metal. This process will help keep your threads clean as you continue to tap new threads.
