Plastic Barbed Insert Fittings

These plastic insert barb fittings are designed to fit black polyethylene irrigation tubing, or potable water tubing for wells, very snugly. If the tubing seems to be too snug, then you can warm up the end of the tubing by putting it into hot water until it becomes softer and more pliable. Do not warm the fitting, just the tubing. You may find a little silicone lubricant, faucet grease or liquid dish soap (liquid dish soap not recommended for potable water tubing) added to the outside of the fitting can help you slide the tubing over the fitting. We recommend marine grade stainless steel clamps be used to secure the pipe to the fittings.
