Q. "You mention Chlorine, Combined Chlorine (Sodium Hypochlorite), Hydrogen Sulfide (rotten egg smell), Iron oxide (rust water), Dirt, sediment, odors. Do these shower filters eliminate all of these and also, how long do these filters last before I need to replace them?"
A. These great shower filters don't necessarily eliminate the chemicals mentioned, though they usually will help to lower the amount of these chemicals in your water. However, their effectiveness really depends on your water conditions. Water quality is very complicated and complex. We wish to be totally honest and not sell something that we don't believe in. We have had many "thanks" and compliments and repeat business with these Sprite shower filters, but we do want you to know that in some water conditions they won't do that much nor will they last long. Some water qualities are extra-ordinary. The above shower water filters reduce many chemicals for most situations, but they are not a fix-all for all water qualities. In some cases, you might also need a whole house sand filter, a water softener or maybe a whole house water filter to deal with the issues mentioned above. And in some situations where you have extremely poor quality water, it might be best to hire a local water expert to give you advice on how to deal with your bad water.
Q. "How can I recycle my old filter cartridges?"
A. One of the best things about these shower filters is that you can recycle the cartridges. To do so, carefully poke a hole in the screen of the cartridge. Empty the filter contents into garden soil and mix it up, then place the cartridge in with your plastic recyclables.
