Frequently Asked Questions
Q. "Is there anything else I should know about this back up pump?"
A. Make sure to follow all of the manufacturer's instructions and directions by performing the proper maintenance and inspections to ensure that you are fully protected from flooding - this is ever-so-important with (man-made) safety devices as they will eventually fail. Proper installation, inspections, and maintenance can go a long way toward extending the life of your pump and providing optimal flood protection.
Q. "What does 'heads' mean in terms of pump performance?"
A. Since sump pumps are used in basements or underground areas, the water must usually be pumped above ground to be disposed of properly. Generally, pump performance is measured by how many gallons of water the pump can move to a certain height. The 'head' is how high the water will be pumped. For example, using the above chart, when the water pressure is at 20 PSI this pump can pump 11 gallons of water four feet high in one minute. When the water pressure reaches 60 PSI, the pump can move 19.8 gallons of water per minute up to a height of four feet.
