High Quality TU-555 Thread Sealing Compound
T-U Type 555 is a virtually odor free, excellent all purpose, non-seizing thread sealing compound that
produces a leak proof seal on all types of metal and plastic threading connections. It is completely homogenized
and free of any valve destroying grit. The application may be pressurized immediately after assembly.
This top quality thread sealant features:
- Non-separating and grit free
- Non-toxic so it's safe to use almost anywhere
- Adheres even to oily threads (although it is recommended you clean threads before applying for best results)
- Exceeds federal specs TT-S-1732
- Brushable from -50°F (-45°C) to +400°F (204°C)
- Slow dry, soft set, non-hardening, anti-seize formula makes it great for use in situations where you don't want a permanent seal
- Requirements certified to A.G.A # 4-90 metal threads

Easy to use!
Stir the compound well, brush liberally onto the male threads of your fitting, and make up the joint in the normal manner.

This pipe compound features:
- Flexible white, non-separating paste made with PTFE
- Non-toxic, non-staining formula safe for water use almost anywhere
- Non-hardening, non-seizing compound lubricates and seals all threaded connections - but allows removal of fittings for repair or maintenance if needed
- Withstands up to 3,000 psi on gases from -50°F to +400°F and up 10,000 psi on liquids from -50°F to +500°F
- Great for use on water, steam, caustics or dilute acid lines or on PVC, CPVC, ABS, polyethylene, polypropylene, iron, steel, copper, or brass threads

Q. "Is the TU-555 thread sealing compound compatible with PTFE pipe tape?"
A.Yes. Sometimes adding a good quality thread compound on top of the PTFE thread sealing tape helps seal joints even better. This is often done to natural and propane gas steel pipe and fittings to help make a better thread seal.
