Wall Saver for Tankless Water Heaters

Wall Mount Tankless Water Heater Drain Pan

The first drain pan specifically designed for tankless water heaters and other wall mounted equipment.

Drain pans are required by most plumbing and mechanical codes and until now there was no pan available that met the needs of the tankless water heater and wall mounted boiler industries. This drain pan provides both leak and splash/spray protection to the structure while maintaining one of the most popular reasons for using tankless equipment - space savings. The pan mounts to the wall below the unit, or the unit may be installed partially within the pan. The pan also provides a location for the discharge of relief valves (if allowed by local code) and provides a location to install other popular safety accessories that can sense the presence of water and alarm and/or close the valves serving the tankless water heater.

This wall mount drain pan for tankless water heaters utilizes the same 1" PVC drain fittings as other drain pans, and is made of impact resistant non-metallic polymer. View installation instructions

Drain Pan Installation Instructions

This tankless water heater drain pan is designed to offer reasonable protection from water damage against leaks from equipment served.

The drain pan is to be attached securely to the wall below the lower mounting bracket of the equipment being served. As an option, the equipment being served may be mounted in such a way as to position it within the limits of the rear and side splash guards as required for maximum protection. Mounting holes are at 16" centers to help make installation easier. However, the pan may be attached at any point as needed by screwing through the rear splash guard to the structure. Care should be taken when attaching the pan or the water heater to not crush the rear strengthening ribs on the backsplash as damage may occur. The flat area above the vertical ribs is for attaching the pan, water heater or mounting boards.

If mounting boards are to be used for the equipment the pan may be installed with the top edge of the board against the bottom of the mounting board or the top section of the pan may be trimmed along the sides up to 3-1/2" to allow for the drain pan to have the boards mounted over the top of the drain pan, placing the unit partially within the pan. A score line is provided at this point on the sides of the pan.

Pipe penetrations may be made through the rear or side splash guards as needed, however for maximum splash and leak protection piping should be run to the equipment around the drain pan. No penetrations shall be made below the catch basin rim line. Any penetrations made must be sufficiently caulked to maintain maximum moisture protection.

For drain connection: Use a typical PVC 1" MIP adapter fitting, washer and retainer as used on other drain pans (available separately from drain pan, listed above). Drains may connect together into a common drain pipe to discharge to either the outside of the structure or a suitable drain location. No traps should be installed in the drain piping from the pan.

Additional Accessories For Tankless Water Heaters

FloodStop Systems for Water Heaters

FloodStop kits automatically shut off the water supply to the Water Heater and sounds an alarm, leaving all other household fixtures and appliances operational. Powered by AC Adaptor/Transformer or Batteries. Output contacts available, which allow the Controller to connect with Alarm, Home Automation or Auto-Dialer systems if desired. Easily installed in fifteen minutes. 1-Year Manufacturer's Warranty.

Prevent water heaters from flooding your property:
Water Heaters have a limited life, then leak after years of corrosion. Water Heaters are generally considered a maintenance-free appliance, but they are also one of the single most damaging appliances in the home. Because Water Heaters are continually under pressure, even small pressurized leaks can quickly flood and devastate a home. Whether at home, at work, or on vacation these flooding events can go undetected for hours or even days.

With Flood Stop, Property Damage is Avoided:
Water loss from unexpected appliance failures and supply line ruptures are detected by FloodStop's water/leak sensor, and the water supply is automatically and immediately shut off.
