Q. "Please explain the best gauge of stainless and which is longer lasting?"
A. The lower the number, the thicker the material. In our opinion, 22 gauge is bare minimum - builder quality. During the manufacturing process, stainless steel sinks are "stamped" into shape. That means that the material stretches and therefore the corners can be very thin. We suggest at least 20 gauge and preferably 18 gauge.
Q. "What is StoneGuard™?"
A. StoneGuard™ is a sprayed on marble-based powered coating for the underneath of your sink. Houzer utilizes this special coating over their rubber Super Silencer pad to provide your luxury sink with extra sound absorption for a quiet operation.
Q. "What does the SpecPlus™ Edge do? Why do I need that?
A. Houzer's exclusive SpecPlus Edge™ is a beveled edge on the outer rim of the sink to provide increased structural rigidity for the entire sink span and create a smooth finished look.
