Frequently Asked Questions
Q. "How do I determine if I need left or right hand threads?"
A. The right and left hand thread versions of the standing pilot gas water heater models are offered due to some water heaters using a left hand threaded thermocouple. To determine which one you need, check the owner's manual for your water heater or unscrew your thermocouple. If it unscrews counter clockwise it is a right hand threaded thermocouple, if it unscrews clockwise it is a left hand threaded thermocouple.
