Frequently Asked Questions

Q. "What does 'swiveling seat disks' mean?"
A. The lower portion of the stem has a swiveling seat disk to reduce friction between the rubber washer and the seat. When the stem is turned to close the flow of water, the stem rotates around the seat disk causing the rubber washer to push straight down onto the seat. This prevents the washer from twisting and rubbing against the seat like conventional compression shut-off valves. This helps to extend the life of the washer and lowers maintenance costs.

Q. "What does 4" centers or 8" centers mean?"
A. All faucets are either measured from the center of the cold inlet to the center of the hot inlet or the distance between the sink mounting post centers, depending on the type of faucet. CC is an abbreviation for center to center. This measurement must match the distance the holes in the sink, or the pipes coming out of the wall, are apart from each other where the faucet will be mounted.

Q. "What is static water pressure?"
A. Static water pressure refers to the water pressure detected in a water piping system when all of the plumbing fixtures are turned off and the water is not flowing or moving.

Please note: While we strive to ensure every product we label as "Made in the USA" really is 100% made in the USA, it is also important to understand that sometimes manufacturers make changes to their products, or for various reasons may receive components or materials that they would normally purchase domestically from an overseas supplier - and they don't necessarily let distributors (like us!) know that they've changed something about the product or where it is manufactured.

If you receive a product that PlumbingSupply.com® says is "Made in the USA" and the product states it was manufactured elsewhere, please contact us. We will happily replace or refund your purchase to your satisfaction.
