Emergency High Water Shut-Off Switch and Alarm
These high water shut-off switches are great choices for pond applications, as well as any other application where you may need a switch to stop your pump from overfilling a tank or pit. These switches are great for making sure your waterfall or pond filter tank does not overflow by stopping the pump if the sensor is contacted with water. The real advantage of this switch is that it saves you from overflows which could potentially flood areas of your property and damage items around your home. The automatic high water shut-off switch has no moving parts that can seize up or get wedged between the pump and the wall of the pit and prevent the pump from running, or cause it to run continuously and burn out. As this switch is electronic, it has features that just aren't available in mechanical switches, such as the alarms that are described below. Whether replacing a switch that has already failed or just being pro-active in attempting to avoid damage that may occur when the switch finally does fail, installing a High Water Shut-Off Switch just makes sense to help prevent tank/pit overflow and water damage. This High Water Shut-Off Switch works with all brands of pumps up to 14amps such as DuraMAC, Little Giant, Zoeller, Liberty, etc.

How The High Water Shut-Off Switch and Alarm Works
The location of the sensor determines when the control module turns the pump off.
The sequence below outlines the operation of this switch as follows:
- When water is below the sensor, the pump is on
- The pump stays on until water rises to the sensor
- When the water reaches the sensor, the pump is turned off and an audible alarm is sounded
- The pump stays off until the switch is reset by unplugging it and plugging it back in
Note: ALL brands of man-made mechanical devices WILL eventually fail.
These emergency high water shut off switches are great devices, but they are not the "end all" solution to help prevent water damage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. "Why would I need one of these switches?"
A. These electronic high water shut-off switches can be used in many applications in which you need to keep water in a holding tank or pit from overflowing or raising above a certain level in the tank or pit. These switches will keep the pump on until water raises to the sensor. Once this happens, the pump is shut-off and stays this way until the control module is reset.
Q. "How hard are these high water shut-off switches to install?"
A. These switches require no tools to install. Simply place the sensor at the position in your tank or pit where you want the pump to turn off, plug the control module into a standard 120 VAC outlet, and then plug the pump into the "piggyback plug" on the control module.
Q. "How can these high water shut-off switches save my tank from overflowing?"
A. These switches can stop your tank from overflowing by shutting off the power to the pump when water raises to the point of contacting the sensor in the tank. An alarm will also be sounded to alert you that the pump had been shut-off due to a high water level.
Q. "How can I make sure this works properly?"
A. Make sure to follow all of the manufacturer's instructions and directions by performing the proper maintenance and inspections to ensure that you are fully protected from flooding -this is ever-so-important with (man-made) safety devices as they will eventually fail.
