Adjustable Anti-Sweat Mixing Valve
Eliminates Toilet Tank Condensation
Eliminate toilet tank condensation (sweat) caused when warm, humid air collides with the cold porcelain surfaces of the toilet. The water temperature of the water entering the tank can range anywhere from 40° to 60° F. depending on the main water source. Now add a hot, humid day and you have the perfect combination for condensation to form, turn to water and drip down onto the floor. This can lead to many problems, like mold and mildew and in extreme cases water can seep under the floor, soak into the sub floor and floor joists, soak baseboards, drywall, and paint all leading to costly repairs.
A small addition of warm water to the incoming water to the tank can stop the condensation. These Anti-Sweat valves can be easily installed in any position above or below the floor, or inside or outside the interior wall. The hot water must be connected to the inlet marked hot and the cold water to the inlet marked cold. The port marked mixed must be connected to the toilet.
The Anti-Sweat valves can be adjusted by turning the slotted screw clockwise to lower the temperature or counter clockwise to raise the temperature of the water flowing to the toilet. The hot water can be completely shut-off if not needed by turning the slotted screw clockwise. A lukewarm water temperature to the toilet is sufficient to stop tank condensation.
Quick Tip: Especially in high humidity areas, condensation can form on a toilet tank when there is a steady source of cold water. Should you have condensation on your tank be sure to check that your flapper isn't leaking as the continual flow of cold water from a leaky flapper could be the culprit. If your flapper is not leaking, you probably need an anti-sweat valve.

All Brass Flush Valve
This all brass "Douglas" style flush valve includes a brass overflow tube, rod guide, shank nut and washer. These all brass flush valves were originally used with tank balls in most two-piece toilets before flapper technology became popular. The brass overflow tube is 22 gauge, 1" in outside diameter, 10" long, and is threaded (27 threads per inch) into the flush valve base. The center of the overflow tube is 2-1/8" from the center of the flush valve opening. The flush valve opening is 2-1/32" tapering up to 2-9/32" providing a smooth surface (seat) on which the tank ball will sit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. "What are the most commonly replaced toilet parts?"
A.This depends on several factors; each time you use your toilet the trip lever, flapper, and fill valve are operated. You will find, however, that the flapper and fill valve are the parts most exposed to water and will be the first ones to wear out in most cases.
Q. "How long 'should' the parts inside of my toilet last?"
A. That depends on a number of variables and which parts. Water quality is one of the major factors. If your water source is heavily chlorinated then many parts won't last long. Or if you have a lot of sand or grit or have a low pH or "aggressive" water source then parts simply won't last as long as the 'average' length of time. Also the quality of the parts matters. The replaceable parts such as flappers and washers/seals generally will last at least 4 to 5 years on "average." If you use a bowl cleaner some flappers won't even last one year. If your flapper has black "goo" on it then it is either due to age or quality of your water and if it feels soft then it's best to change it.
Q. "Why does my toilet continue to run after flushing?"
A. If, after flushing, you find that the toilet continues to run, and you have discovered that by jiggling the handle it will stop; then the problem may be that the chain controlling the flapper is too long. When installing your flapper, you want the flapper chain's S-hook in the hole closest to the handle with very little slack in the chain itself. By doing so, when the toilet is flushed, the chain will fall behind the flapper where it won't snag and cause problems such as keeping the flapper from closing properly. Check to make sure that the flapper has enough clearance to close, i.e. not hitting the float ball when the water level drops. You also want to check to see that the toilet's flush handle (aka tank lever) is installed securely so it can't rotate too high, hitting the tank's lid or other parts and sticking.
Q. "When you say "set" of toilet bolt caps, what does one set include?"
A. These come in a set of 2 caps and 2 retainers (one for each cap). In other words, enough for one toilet. The retainer doubles as a thick plastic washer that gets bolted onto the tank bowl tank bolt. The retainer is designed to allow a groove inside the cap to snap onto it keeping the cap snugly secured to the bowl.
Q. "Will these toilet bowl bolt caps colors match my toilet perfectly?"
A. They may be very close in matching the color of your toilet bowl but it really will depend on a number of factors such as what kind of lighting there is in the bathroom, what color toilet that you have and what cap colors that are still available. The fact that your toilet is made out of porcelain and that the caps are made out of plastic will affect the color combination as no "exact" match is possible due to the material differences, and so on. For most of our customers "close enough" is good enough and that is probably the case in 97% of our customers who have purchased our toilet bowl caps. But for some people "close enough" is not good enough. So we would like to caution you before purchasing bolt caps of any color, even "white" colored caps. If a totally exact match is "a must" we recommend you find porcelain made colored caps that were made at the time your toilet was made.
