Frequently Asked Questions
Q. "What is the Integra-Flow system?"
A. The Integra-Flow system is an effective vandal resistant, overflow preventative system built-in to the sink. Any sink has the potential to have an occasional overflow which can cause all kinds of damage. ADA compliant sinks are especially prone to overflowing due to their shallower code compliance bowl depths. Just Manufacturing Integra-Flow systems are especially effective in helping to reduce overflow possibilities. Just stainless steel sinks with Integra-Flow systems include a plastic reinforced hose to be connected to the drain tailpiece using a branch wye. Branch wyes can be purchased on our tubular drain products page.
Q. "What do the different types of stainless steel (304, 316, etc) mean?"
A. The term "stainless steel" refers to specific grades of steel that contain more than 10% chromium. Stainless steel may also include a variety of other elements (such as nickel, titanium, molybdenum, etc) to obtain specific physical and mechanical properties for specific purposes. When chromium is added to steel the chromium in the steel combines with oxygen in the atmosphere to form a thin stable surface layer of chrome containing oxide. This stable surface composition protects the surface of the steel from further physical or chemical changes. Stainless steel resists corrosion and is generally a stronger, more reliable steel. Type 304 contains a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel to produce a good corrosion resistant, economical steel alloy for use in unpolluted and freshwater environments. It is not recommended for use with seawater. Type 316 contains 18-25% chromium and 12% nickel along with 2-3% molybdenum. This composition increases the corrosion resistance and is often used for pumps, valves, chemical equipment and marine applications although it will pit if totally submerged in seawater.
Q. "What does ADA mean?"
A. It is the abbreviation/designation for Americans with Disabilities Act, which is a set of guidelines and laws to aid disabled individuals to lead more independent lives. More and more manufacturers are designing and building products to meet the needs of this valuable group of people. Often referred to as "handicapped" they are not, it is the environment that is handicapped, and with some improvements the environment can be made accessible to nearly everyone.
Please note: While we strive to ensure every product we label as "Made in the USA" really is 100% made in the USA, it is also important to understand that sometimes manufacturers make changes to their products, or for various reasons may receive components or materials that they would normally purchase domestically from an overseas supplier - and they don't necessarily let distributors (like us!) know that they've changed something about the product or where it is manufactured.
If you receive a product that PlumbingSupply.com® says is "Made in the USA" and the product states it was manufactured elsewhere, please contact us. We will happily replace or refund your purchase to your satisfaction.
Customer Testimonials
"I just wanted to drop you a line to say what a truly excellent customer service experience I have had in tracking down and ordering parts for my pond. I have worked with I think four different support reps over the period of a week or so and have had knowledgeable, courteous and prompt service from all of them. I will definitely be ordering all my plumbing supplies from you in the future."
